   Suite des articles consacrés aux sitckers dorés Pathé Marconi. Nous avons un cas très intéressant avec ce tirage Allemand de Holy smoke. Sa référence est EMI 060 204028 6 et il s'agit du maxi 45 tours. Le sticker doré PM se trouve logiquement au dos, sous les références:

   Ce sticker doré PM 212 est, je le rappelle, une indication d'importation en France et indiquait le prix que le disquaire devait appliquer. Pour rappel aussi j'ai tenté de faire des rapprochements sur le prix/code, mais la difficulté est que le prix changeait mais le code oui, mais parfois non ! Un exemple: en septembre 1986 le maxi 45 tours import de Wasted years avait le code PM 132. Son prix devait être de 50 francs (c'est un exemple). Deux mois après l'import en maxi 45 tours de Stranger in a strange land comportait le code PM 212. Et devait aussi coûter 50 francs ! Et deux ans après Holy smoke a aussi le code PM 212 mais probablement, et c'est encore une estimation, ce disque devait valoir 52 francs. Vous avez, je pense, compris mon idée. Je sais que les disquaires recevaient un fax (pas de mail !) avec le code PM et le prix à appliquer à l'instant présent. Si un jour je peux trouver ce type de liste...

   This gold sticker PM 212 is, I recall, an indication of import in France and indicated the price that the record store had to apply. As a reminder also I tried to make reconciliations on the price/code, but the difficulty is that the price changed but the code yes, but sometimes no! An example: in September 1986 the 12' inch import of Wasted years had the code PM 132. Its price had to be 50 francs (this is an example). Two months after the maximum 12' inch import of Stranger in a strange land had the code PM 212. And also had to cost 50 francs! And two years after Holy smoke also has the code PM 212 but probably, and this is still an estimate, this record was worth 52 francs. I think you got my point. I know that the record stores received a fax (no email!) with the PM code and the price to apply at the moment. If I can ever find that kind of list...

   Bien entendu si je m'arrête là cet article serait trop simple. Cela m'arrive souvent lorsque le produit est simple, mais pas ici. En effet je possède déjà un produit identique, Holy smoke Allemand en maxi 45 tours, import France, sticker PM 212. Sauf que ce sticker n'est pas doré mais blanc:

   Of course, if I stop there, this clause would be too simple. It often happens to me when the product is simple, but not here. Indeed I already have an identical product, Holy smoke German in 12' inch, import France, sticker PM 212. Except that this sticker is not gold but white.

   Au début j'ai pensé que ce sticker était doré à la base, et qu'il a pris le soleil, perdant son éclat. Cela arrive avec la couleur rouge lorsqu'elle est exposée au soleil. Mais on peut constater, en comparant les deux modèles, qu'ils sont différents. La typo n'est pas la même, la taille non plus, ni la forme globale:

   At first I thought that this sticker was golden at the base, and that it took the sun, losing its shine. This happens with the red color when it is exposed to the sun. But we can see, by comparing the two models, that they are different. The typo is not the same, nor the size, nor the overall shape.

   Pourquoi ces deux modèles de sticker PM ? Je ne sais pas. La seule explication plausible est un tirage pour la France fait en Allemagne avec des stickers différents posés là-bas, et des tirages Allemands envoyés en France et sur lesquels des stickers dorés ont été posés. Mais ce n'est qu'une hypothèse. 

   Why these two PM sticker patterns? I don’t know. The only plausible explanation is a print for France made in Germany with different stickers placed there, and German prints sent to France and on which golden stickers were placed. But that’s just a guess.

   Ce qui est une certitude c'est que ce tirage avec sticker doré réserve une dernière surprise. Si vous avez regardé attentivement la première photo, avec le visuel, vous avez probablement remarqué une forme en bas à gauche. Cette forme est en fait un tampon embouti promotionnel. Ce tampon est différent de celui habituellement utilisé. En effet à partir de 1988 Pathé Marconi a modifié son tampon promo. Le cercle est devenu un hexagone. De même le texte a été changé: "Disque gratuit, interdit à la vente" a été remplacé par Echantillon gratuit, ventre interdite":

   What is certain is that this print with golden sticker reserves one last surprise. If you looked carefully at the first photo, with the visual, you probably noticed a shape at the bottom left. This shape is actually a promotional stamped stamp. This stamp is different from the one usually used. Indeed from 1988 Pathé Marconi changed its promo stamp. The circle became a hexagon. Similarly the text has been changed: "Disque gratuit, interdit à la vente" has been replaced by "Echantillon gratuit, ventre interdite".

   L'emplacement de ce tampon n'est pas commun, car habituellement il se trouve en haut à droite. Mais selon la mise en place de la pochette par l'opérateur sous l'outil, il peut différer de place. Car cette opération était manuelle. Une pile de pochette vide était mise de côté par un responsable de Pathé Marconi et un opérateur tamponnait ces pochettes avec une presse comportant le tampon embouti. Bien entendu le nombre de pochette ainsi tamponnée était aléatoire et il n'est pas possible de savoir combien il existe de tirage promo pour un titre précis. Néanmoins, ce que je peux dire, c'est la première fois que je vois un tirage promo pour Holy smoke en maxi 45 tours en import Allemand. J'ai déjà vu le promo Français en 45 tours (que je ne possède pas d'ailleurs) mais jamais le maxi 45 tours. Pour terminer sur ce superbe produit je précise que le tampon hexagonal promo n'a été utilisé en France qu'entre 1988 et 1990, voir 1992 mais je n'en ai pas la certitude. En tout cas pas plus tard.

   The location of this buffer is not common, as it is usually located at the top right. But depending on the placement of the pouch by the operator under the tool, it may differ from place. Because this operation was manual. An empty pouch stack was set aside by a Pathé Marconi manager and an operator stamped the pouches with a press containing the stamped tampon. Of course the number of pouch so stamped was random and it is not possible to know how many promotional draws there are for a specific title. Nevertheless, what I can say is that this is the first time that I see a promotional draw for Holy smoke in 12' inch in German import. I’ve already seen the French promo in 7' inch (which I don’t own anyway) but never the 12' inch. To finish on this superb product I specify that the promo hexagonal stamp was only used in France between 1988 and 1990, see 1992 but I do not have the certainty. At least not later.
