   Cette longue série de 33 tours n'est pas encore terminée car il me reste encore quelques produits a vous montrer avant de passer a des CD. Et ce double vinyle de Live after death est un tirage assez particulier puisqu'il s'agit d'un tirage promotionnel Anglais.

   This long series of LP is not finished yet because I still have some products to show you before switching to CDs. And this double vinyl of Live after death is a rather special print since it is a promotional English print.

   Sa référence est EMI RIP 1 ou E2404263, mais ce n'est pas le plus important car ce qui différencie ce tirage d'un vinyle de série est la sticker collé au dos:

   Its reference is EMI RIP 1 or E2404263, but this is not the most important because what differentiates this print from a standard vinyl is the sticker stuck on the back.

   Je vous ai déjà montré ce type de sticker promotionnel Anglais sur des 45 tours et l'habituelle question à se poser est: est-ce qu'il est authentique ? Et je vous avais indiqué comment le savoir. Je recommence ? Bon, il faut juste observer la qualité du papier qui doit être d'un blanc immaculé, avec des fibres de coton apparentes et un texte imprimé très nettement. Le sticker ci-dessus correspond totalement à ces critères. Si vous voyez un sticker blanc avec des points de couleur dedans, et un texte baveux, c'est un faux.

   I have already shown you this type of English promotional sticker on  7' and the usual question to ask is: is it authentic? And I told you how to find out. Shall I do it again? Well, you just have to observe the quality of the paper which must be immaculate white, with apparent cotton fibers and a very clearly printed text. The sticker above corresponds totally to these criteria. If you see a white sticker with colored dots in it, and a slobbery text, it’s a fake.

   Outre ce sticker, ce produit contient un insert merchandising. On peut aussi le trouver dans un tirage classique, non promo. Mais souvent cet insert a été enlevé par les acheteurs, pour commander des articles, ou perdu au cours des années:

   In addition to this sticker, this product contains a merchandising insert. It can also be found in a classic, non-sales print. But often this insert has been removed by buyers, to order items, or lost over the years.

   Et enfin ce tirage promo contient un autre insert, tapé à la machine a écrire sur des feuilles A4, et relié avec une agrafe, dans le plus pur style des années 80.  Pour ceux qui n'ont connu que les imprimantes lasers et les relieuses, il fut une époque ou pour faire un petit livret il fallait taper tout le texte avec une machine à écrire. Cet insert présent le groupe, les musiciens, et la discographie complète entre 1980 et 1985: singles, LP, cassettes, video et même les anniversaires des membres !

   And finally this promo print contains another insert, typewritten on A4 sheets, and bound with a staple, in the purest style of the 80s.  For those who knew only laser printers and bookbinders, there was a time or to make a small booklet it was necessary to type all the text with a typewriter. This insert presents the band, the musicians, and the complete discography between 1980 and 1985: singles, LP, cassettes, video and even the members' birthdays!

   Et au dos de la dernière page, figurait le tampon du bureau EMI  de Londres avec les noms des attachés de presse:

   And on the back of the last page was the stamp from the EMI office in London with the names of the press officers.

   Je suis donc heureux d'avoir pu acheter ce tirage assez rare je pense, pour compléter ma collection. Il va y rejoindre le test pressing.

   So I am happy to have been able to buy this rare print I think, to complete my collection. He will join the test pressing.

J'y serais à Paris au mois de mai, et peut-être en juin au Hellfest.

   Pour ce premier article de 2024 je vous propose un tirage Péruvien de Piece of mind, mon premier disque pour ce pays. Sa référence est EMI Discos Hispanos del Peru CE 02.0021. Peu d'information sur cette société, mais en général il s'agit d'une société de production et de distribution locale, destinée à fabriquer et distribuer les produits EMI au Pérou. Ce tirage date de 1986. On y reviendra.

   For this first article of 2024 I propose you a Peruvian print of Piece of mind, my first record for this country. Its reference is EMI Discos Hispanos del Peru CE 02.0021. Little information about this company, but in general it is a local production and distribution company, intended to manufacture and distribute EMI products in Peru. This is from 1986. We will come back to that.

   La pochette est une reproduction de la pochette Américaine, avec la présence du logo Capitol qui n'a pas été enlevé, tandis que les crédits et même le code barre US ont été retirés. C'est aussi souvent le cas dans certains pays, comme la Corée du Sud par exemple, afin de gagner du temps pour réaliser la maquette envoyée à l'imprimeur.

   The cover is a reproduction of the American cover, with the presence of the Capitol logo that has not been removed, while the credits and even the US barcode have been removed. This is also often the case in some countries, such as South Korea for example, in order to save time to make the model sent to the printer.

   Les labels sont jaunes, ce qui est assez rare pour un tirage initial où la plupart des pays ont un label avec l'image connue. Mais cela s'explique par deux raisons: la date décalée de 3 ans par rapport au reste du monde, et il est plus facile de réaliser un label jaune. D'ailleurs beaucoup de label en Amérique du Sud sont jaunes. La référence figure sur le label, soit CE 02.0021. alors que cette référence n'est visible sur la pochette que sur la tranche.

   The labels are yellow, which is quite rare for an initial print run where most countries have a label with the known image. But this is explained by two reasons: the date shifted by 3 years compared to the rest of the world, and it is easier to achieve a yellow label. Many labels in South America are yellow. The reference is on the label, CE 02.0021. while this reference is visible on the cover only on the slice.

   La matrice par contre ne reprend pas la référence CE 02.0021 mais une autre, qui est 02.0045 A. De même on retrouve le nom du groupe, le titre de l'album et surtout une date 1.10.86. Là aussi certains pays indiquent la date de réalisation dans la matrice, ce qui nous est très utile. C'est ainsi que nous savons que ce produit date de 1986.

   The matrix on the other hand does not take the reference CE 02.0021 but another, which is 02.0045 A. Similarly we find the name of the band, the title of the album and especially a date 1.10.86. Here too some countries indicate the completion date in the matrix, which is very useful to us. This is how we know that this product dates from 1986.
