Ajout 2 CD: Live after death

Je pense que cet article encore consacré a des produits Brésiliens va poser plus de questions qu'ils ne va en résoudre !

En effet je vous propose de voir ensemble un tirage de Live after death de 1991, et un second de 1994. Voyons le premier:

Si on se réfère aux crédits figurant au dos de la jaquette, il est daté de 1991. Comme le Killers et le The number of the beast des articles précédents. Jusqu'ici tout va bien.

If we refer to the credits on the back of the jacket, it is dated 1991. Like the Killers and the The number of the beast from previous articles. So far so good.

Examinons maintenant le CD. Il n'y a pas de date dessus, mais de très nombreux crédits, qui entourent complètement le rond du support. La matrix a été faite par EMI Swindon. Voici le scan:

Et là j'ai un problème. Ce n'est pas le même CD que les deux autres. Pour rappel voici le scan de Killers:

Donc soit le CD pour Live after death est différent des autres titres, soit ce n'est pas le bon. Voyons maintenant le tirage de 1994:

D'une part la date de1994 est indiquée à la fin des crédits, et d'autre part un code barre est visible. Il y a donc une grand différence entre les deux jaquettes. Enfin un bon point pour une authentification formelle.

On the one hand, the date 1994 is indicated at the end of the credits, and on the other hand a barcode is visible. There is therefore a big difference between the two covers. Finally, a good point for formal authentication.

Mais les interrogations reviennent avec le CD dont la matrix provient de Sonopress:

C'est effectivement le visuel des CD de 1991. Et cela se complique encore car lorsque je vais sur Discogs pour voir la photo d'un exemplaire posté par un contributeur ce n'est pas encore le même !

Du coup je suis perdu ! Je ne sais pas quoi penser de ce que je vois et de ce que je pense savoir. En fait je n'ai pas assez de matériel pour déterminer a quoi ressemble un CD de 1991 et un autre de 1994. Et du coup discogs ne m'aide pas. Donc pour le moment je vais laisser les dates avec les scans des produits comme je les ai trouvés dans les boites. Si un jour j'achète d'autres produits, ou que je trouve un site spécilaisé sur les tirages Brésilen, je pourrais modifier en conséquence. C'est un très bon exemple des difficultés d'un collectionneur lorsqu'il doit identifier avec certitude des produits 30 ans après...

Ajout CD: Piece of mind

Troisième CD de mes achats Brésiliens au Mega Records, ce produit me perturbe au point que je me sens obliger d'aller sur Discogs pour vérifier les références inscrites. Je crois en avoir déjà parlé mais Discogs n'est pas mon site préféré en matière d'informations. En effet c'est un site participatif et chacun peut y insérer une référence en y indiquant une année, ou un repère. Et donc comme c'est écrit sur Discogs, c'est vrai. Hélas non. Tout comme ce que j'écris sur mon site. Ce n'est pas forcément la vérité, mais le résultat de mes recherches et observations. Je le dis souvent que je peux me tromper. Mais discogs, du fait de sa base de données, est un formidable outil. Mais il doit être recoupé.

Third CD of my Brazilian purchases at Mega Records, this product disrupts me to the point that I feel obliged to go on Discogs to check the listed references. I think I already talked about it but Discogs is not my favorite site when it comes to information. Les contributeurs de Discogs indiquent plusieurs années pour les tirages Brésiliens: 1991, 1994 et 1996. Et lorsque je regarde les images postées pour les tirages de 1991 et 1994 il y a des différences entre les CD et l'arrière de la jaquette. Pour 1996 aucun souci, il y a un code barre. Et après, en 1998, ce sont les remasters. Mais j'ai de gros doutes sur les caractéristiques des CD de 1991 et 1994.

Discogs contributors indicate several years for the Brazilian prints: 1991, 1994 and 1996. And when I look at the images posted for the 1991 and 1994 prints, there are differences between the CDs and the back of the jacket. For 1996 no problem, there is a barcode. And then, in 1998, it’s the remasters. But I have big doubts about the characteristics of the 1991 and 1994 CDs.

Lorsque je regarde mon exemplaire de Piece of mind, qui serait un tirage de 1991, je vois qu'au dos il y a effectivement inscrit cette date. Ce n'est pas forcément très visible sur mon scan mais cela figure bien en bas à droite:

When I look at my copy of Piece of mind, which would be a 1991 print, I see that on the back there is indeed written this date. It is not necessarily very visible on my scan but it appears well at the bottom right.

Et le CD comporte un texte assez fin, en rond sur le bord du CD, avec surtout cette mention "Rio de Janeiro" sur le haut:

And the CD has a rather thin text, in the round on the edge of the CD, especially with this mention 'Rio de Janeiro' at the top.

Lorsque je regarde sur Discogs je vois des CD datés de 1991 mais avec un texte plus gras et avec Rio de Janeiro et Manaus. Sur des CD de 1994 je vois le logo EMI à droite. Sur d'autres CD datés 1994 je vois un code barre. Bref je pense qu'il y a de la confusion faute d'historique précis. Pour ma part je n'ai pas assez de produit Brésilien pour être affirmatif.

When I look on Discogs I see CDs dated 1991 but with a bolder text and with Rio de Janeiro and Manaus. On CDs from 1994, I see the EMI logo on the right. On other CDs dated 1994, I see a barcode. In short, I think there is confusion due to the lack of precise history. For my part, I don’t have enough Brazilian products to be affirmative.

Donc j'en conclue que ce que j'ai écrit précédement sur Killers et The number of the beast est faux ! J'exagère un peu mais cela est super intéressant car cela démontre que nos certitudes en la matière peuvent être remises en cause à tout moment. Bon en fait, après analyse de mes produits, dont des Live after death qui feront l'objet de prochains articles, et ce que j'ai vu sur Discogs, j'ai une petite idée sur les origines de ces tirages CD Brésiliens. Je dois encore vérifier certains aspects mais c'est prometteur...

So I conclude that what I wrote previously about Killers and The number of the beast is false! I exaggerate a little but it is super interesting because it demonstrates that our certainties in this area can be challenged at any moment. Well, after analyzing my products, including Live after death that will be the subject of upcoming articles, and what I saw on Discogs, I have a little idea about the origins of these Brazilian CD prints. I still have to check some aspects but it’s promising..
