Au début de ma collection je pensais de façon puéril pouvoir tout avoir et tout collectionner ! Mais rapidement je me suis rendu compte que cela ne serait pas possible pour tous un tas de raisons. Dès lors mon plaisir a été de trouver des pièces pas forcément rares, mais qui me surprennent. C'est le cas de celle de cet article.
At the beginning of my collection I thought in a childish way I could have everything and collect everything! But I quickly realized that this would not be possible for all a lot of reasons. Since then my pleasure has been to find pieces not necessarily rare, but that surprise me. This is the case of this article.
Imaginez ma surprise lorsque, pendant un salon, j'ai trouvé un tirage Japonais de Seventh son of a seventh son en import Français ! C'est la première fois que j'en voyais un et, à vrai dire, je ne pensais pas que cela existait. Des imports Français j'en ai vu et j'en possède pas mal: des Anglais et des Allemands, surtout des maxi 45 tours. Ils sont caractérisés par un sticker doré Pathe Marconi, avec un chiffre: 2 pour un album, 4 pour une cassette, 5 pour un CD. Mais c'est une généralité, car cela change en fonction des époques et des produits. 1 ou 2 signifie aussi maxi 45 tours ou 45 tours. Et 5 un double LP. Et surtout du prix de vente. En gros c'est un code prix pour le revendeur. J'en ai déjà parlé. Voici quelques exemples:
Imagine my surprise when, during a show, I found a Japanese print of Seventh son of a seventh son in French import! This is the first time I’ve ever seen one, and frankly, I didn’t think it existed. French imports I’ve seen and I own quite a few: English and German, mostly 12'. They are characterized by a golden sticker Pathe Marconi, with a number: 2 for an album, 4 for a cassette, 5 for a CD. But it is a generality, because it changes according to the times and products. 1 or 2 also means 7' or 12'. And 5 a double LP. And especially the selling price. Basically it’s a price code for the reseller. I’ve already talked about that. Here are a few examples:
Je ne connais pas d'autres pays qui ont identifié leurs imports de cette façon. Tant mieux pour nous car cela créé une diversité importante. Et surtout des pièces uniques comme ce 33 tours de Seventh son of a seventh son. Sa référence est EMI Toshiba RP28-5610. Son obi est bleue avec le texte jaune, sans la mention "666" que l'on connait sur le tirage spécifique qui proposait un tirage au sort offrant des cadeaux à 666 fans. D'ailleurs c'est presque la même obi sans le rectangle blanc et des mentions au dos:
I don’t know of any other countries that have identified their imports in that way. Good for us because it creates a significant diversity. And especially unique pieces like this LP of Seventh son of a seventh sound. His reference is EMI Toshiba RP28-5610. His obi is blue with the yellow text, without the mention "666" that we know on the specific draw that proposed a draw offering gifts to 666 fans. Moreover it is almost the same obi without the white rectangle and mentions on the back:
La pochette est par contre identique en tout point. Venons-en à la particularité de ce tirage. Lorsque Pathé Marconi a reçu des tirages Japonais de ce titre, quelqu'un a apposé un sticker "Import Japon Pathé Marconi". Je pense que cela était obligatoire dans les années 80 pour des raisons de droits ou de taxes. Il existe plusieurs type de sticker import, dont celui-ci par exemple pour un import Anglais:
The cover is however identical in every way. Let’s come to the particularity of this print. When Pathé Marconi received Japanese prints of this title, someone put a sticker "Import Japan Pathé Marconi". I think it was mandatory in the 1980s because of duties or taxes. There are several types of import sticker, including this one for example for an english import:
Et l'autre sticker que Pathe Marconi a posé sur la pochette est le fameux stocker doré PM. Le nombre additionnel est 526. Pourquoi pas un 2 comme pour les autre 33 tours ? Parce que 2 est valable pour un 33 tours simple et classique. Pour Live after death le PM était 521. Car il comportait 2 disques, donc plus cher. C'est donc le prix de cet import Japon qui lui a valu un PM 526. Voici ces deux stickers:
And the other sticker that Pathe Marconi put on the pouch is the famous gold PM storage. The additional number is 526. Why not a 2 as for the other LP? Because 2 is valid for a simple and classic LP. For Live after death the PM was 521. Because it had 2 discs, so more expensive. So it is the price of this import Japan that earned it a PM 526. Here are these two stickers:
Vous me connaissez maintenant et vous savez que j'oriente toujours mes articles importants vers une question finale ouverte. Celle-ci sera: combien existe t-il de tirage identique celui-ci ? 10 ? 20 ? 50 ? Franchement j'ai fréquenté pas mal de Fnac dans les années 80 et je n'ai jamais vu d'import Japon en vente. Donc il y en a eu, mais probablement très peu...
