Le blog spécialisé vinyles, CD et cassettes sur Iron Maiden par Eddiethetrooper

   Le groupe vient d'annoncer la mise en vente en décembre 2026 d'une nouvelle box avec tous les albums de 1980 à 1992. Reprenant le visuel de sa dernière tournée, et intitulé 50th anniversary, studio album collection, part one, cette boite a belle allure. Tous les albums studio, excepté donc Live after death de 1985, sont repressés en tirage couleur et donc en édition limitée.

   The group has just announced the sale in December 2026 of a new box with all the albums from 1980 to 1992. Taking up the visual of his last tour, and entitled 50th anniversary, studio album collection, part one, this box looks great. All studio albums, except for Live after death from 1985, are repressed in color print and therefore in limited edition.

   Il existera 2 versions: une avec poster, vendue par Amazon, et l'autre sans poster.

   Mais ce n'est pas tout car Somewhere in time va, encore, avoir une version collector pour ses 50 ans, avec cette fois-ci un vinyle rouge. Rappelons que la dernière réédition comportait un vinyle jaune. 

   But that’s not all because Somewhere in time will, once again, have a collector’s version for its 50th anniversary, this time with a red vinyl. Recall that the last reissue included a yellow vinyl. 

  Et de façon identique il y aura aussi deux versions, avec poster pour Amazon, et sans pour les autres revendeurs.

   Si on résume, cela fera de beaux cadeaux pour Noel, d'autant plus que les collectionneurs devront rechercher mes 6 versions de ces produits car il y aura aussi des éditions US par BMG probablement, mais sans poster.On a failli en avoir 8 ! 

   If we summarize, it will make beautiful gifts for Christmas, especially since collectors will have to look for my 6 versions of these products because there will also be US editions by BMG probably, but without poster. We almost got 8!

   Comme annoncé sur mon facebook, j'ai beaucoup de vinyles à vous montrer. Mais avant de commencer une série, je vous propose ce CD de The Final Frontier. 

   As announced on my facebook, I have a lot of vinyl to show you. But before starting a series, I suggest you this CD of The Final Frontier.

   Il s'agit d'une version particulière du tirage Européen. En effet cette édition n'a pas la même référence, ni le même livret et, surtout, est destinée à des pays de l'Europe de l'Est. Sa référence est EMI 509990583124. La référence Européenne est logiquement EMI 5099964777221. C'est donc bien un produit à part :

   This is a particular version of the European print. Indeed this edition does not have the same reference, nor the same booklet and, above all, is intended for countries of Eastern Europe. Its reference is EMI 509990583124. The European reference is logically EMI 5099964777221. So it is indeed a separate product.

   Mais ce que l'on remarque immédiatement c'est la présence, au dos, du boitier, de 5 drapeaux des pays suivants : Pologne, République Tchèque, Hongrie, Slovaquie et enfin Roumanie. Bien entendu ils sont en Europe de l'Est, mais en Europe. Alors pourquoi EMI a fait fabriquer une version différente pour eux ?

   But what we immediately notice is the presence, on the back of the case, of 5 flags from the following countries: Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and finally Romania. Of course they are in Eastern Europe, but in Europe. So why did EMI have a different version made for them?

   Je n'ai pas la réponse. Mais j'imagine que c'est une version "low cost" pour ces pays et ce afin de le vendre moins cher. D'ailleurs le livret de plusieurs pages a disparu et a été remplacé par un feuillet unique avec le visuel sur le devant du boitier et les crédits au dos : 

   I don’t have the answer. But I imagine it’s a "low-cost" version for these countries, in order to sell it at a lower price. Moreover, the booklet of several pages has disappeared and was replaced by a single sheet with the visual on the front of the case and the credits on the back.

   Et le CD ? Il a aussi été remplacé par un CD portant la même référence que le boitier. La matrix a été gravée par Optimal media, en Allemagne. Le même graveur que pour la version Europe commune :

   And the CD? It was also replaced by a CD with the same reference as the case. The matrix was recorded by Optimal media, in Germany. The same engraver as for the common Europe version.

   Sur Discogs j'ai vu qu'un contributeur a classé ce produit comme ayant été fabriqué au Pologne. Pourquoi ? Parce que le drapeau Polonais est en premier ! Mais la réalité me semble autre car ce CD a été gravé en Allemagne, chez le graveur actuel de Warner qui a pris le relais sous le nom de Optimal Media GmbH en 2012. Si ce CD avait été fait en Pologne en 2010 il aurait été gravé par Takt, qui a travaillé pour EMI en 2009 et en 2014 pour des rééditions de certains CD du groupe. Donc non, pour moi ce produit est Européen pas Polonais. 

   On Discogs I saw that a contributor classified this product as having been made in Poland. Why? Because the Polish flag is first! But the reality seems different to me because this CD was engraved in Germany, at the current Warner recorder who took over under the name of Optimal Media GmbH in 2012. If this CD had been made in Poland in 2010 it would have been recorded by Takt, who worked for EMI in 2009 and 2014 on reissues of some of the group’s CDs. So no, for me this product is European not Polish.

   Nous arrivons bientôt à la fin de ce lot Irlandais. C'est toujours un moment particulier car cela signifie que je vous ai présenté une longue série de produits venant d'un même pays, mais cela veut aussi dire que je dois aborder un autre thème et surtout que je dois me mettre à la recherche d'autres produits !

   We are almost at the end of this Irish batch. It’s always a special moment because it means that I presented to you a long series of products from the same country, but it also means that I have to address another theme and above all that I have to start looking for other products!

   Cet article est consacré au 45 tour de Running frre live, un single annonçant le Live after death de 1985. Pour la seconde fois ce 45 tours possède une double pochette anglaise et irlandaise. Je conserve les deux car je pense que cela donne encore plus de valeur a ce produit:

   This article is devoted to the 7' of Running frre live, a single announcing the 1985 Live after death. For the second time this 7' has a double English and Irish cover. I keep both because I think it gives even more value to this product.

   Cette année j'avais décidé de ne participer qu'à deux journées du Hellfest 2026, et ce pour deux raisons: Les groupes du samedi et du dimanche ne m’intéressaient pas (sauf Megadeth le samedi) et surtout je devais absolument rentrer chez moi le dimanche afin de pouvoir assister au concert d'Iron Maiden le lundi soir à Paris. 

This year I had decided to only participate in two days of the Hellfest 2026, and for two reasons: I wasn’t interested in the groups on Saturdays and Sundays (except Megadeth on Saturday) and above all I absolutely had to go home on Sunday in order to attend the Iron Maiden concert on Monday evening in Paris.

   Je ne vais pas détailler mes deux journées dans cet article, mais juste apporter mon témoignage sur quelques instants. Pour le reste vous pourrez aussi retrouver toutes mes photos sur la page dédiée aux concerts.

   I won’t detail my two days in this article, but just give my testimony for a few moments. For the rest, you can also find all my photos on the page dedicated to concerts.

   Tout d'abord, et c'est devenu une mauvaise habitude, la chaleur est encore là ! 35 degrés environ à partir de 14h, ce qui rend l'expérience très pénible. Car la seule présence du rideau d'eau ne suffit pas a rafraichir : il n'y a presque pas d'ombre et l'eau coule sous forme de filet aux robinets. Et dire que le dimanche il y a eu 40 degrés. Une folie...

    First of all, and it has become a bad habit, the heat is still there! Around 35 degrees from 2 p.m., which makes the experience very painful. Because the mere presence of the water curtain is not enough to cool: there is almost no shade and the water flows in the form of a net at the taps. And to think that on Sunday there were 40 degrees. A madness...

   Dès l'entrée la nouvelle statue d'Ozzy accueille les festivaliers. Une très bonne idée, accompagnée d'un bel hommage plus tard dans la soirée...

   As soon as you enter, the new statue of Ozzy welcomes festival-goers. A very good idea, accompanied by a beautiful tribute later in the evening...

   Comme d'habitude aussi il y a des files d'attentes énormes au merch, avec, et c'est honteux, un temps d'attente plus long pour les handicapés que pour les personnes valides ! Il faut réellement que les organisateurs se penchent sur ce merch, et trouvent une solution qui évitent aux festivaliers d'attendre 5 heures pour acheter un tee-shirt...

   As usual, there are also huge queues at the merch, with, and it’s shameful, a longer waiting time for the disabled than for the non-disabled! The organizers really need to look into this merch, and find a solution that saves festival-goers from waiting 5 hours to buy a t-shirt...

   Pour le reste j'ai vu voir une dizaine de groupe le jeudi, avec une mention spéciale pour Deep purple, toujours au top, et Alice Cooper, et ses guitaristes talentueux.

   For the rest, I saw about ten bands on Thursday, with a special mention for Deep Purple, still on top, and Alice Cooper, and her talented guitarists.

   Le vendredi était mon jour, avec encore plus de groupes à mon goût tels que Blackrain, Sortilège, Queensryche, Accept, Sepultura, Helloween et Sabaton. Mais bien entendu mon intérêt principal portait sur le show d'Iron Maiden.

   Friday was my day, with even more bands to my liking such as Blackrain, Sortilège, Queensryche, Accept, Sepultura, Helloween and Sabaton. But of course my main interest was the Iron Maiden show.

   Encore un show fantastique, carré, énergique, et quasi identique à celui de 2025 avec Infinite dreams en nouveauté. J'ai juste trouvé Bruce un peu en retrait vocalement, car je pense qu'il se préservait pour le concert de Paris 3 jours plus tard. Mais Iron Maiden au Hellfest c'est toujours un évènement et une fête !

   Another fantastic, square, energetic show, and almost identical to the one from 2025 with Infinite Dreams as a new release. I just found Bruce a little behind vocally, because I think he was saving himself for the Paris concert three days later. But Iron Maiden at Hellfest is always an event and a celebration!

   Et le Hellfest en 2027 ? Pour les 20 ans du festival les organistaeurs annoncent de grands changements : 10 scènes et 300 groupes. Mais aussi l'arrêt des bénévoles qui vont devenir salariés (via une maison d'intérim fondée par le Hellfest). Ce grand festival doit effectivement se renouveler, mais surtout régler le problème du merch et de l'eau. Et en ce 2 juillet le prix du pass 4 jours a été annoncé : 389€. C'est cher, mais logique. 

   And what about Hellfest in 2027? For the festival’s 20th anniversary, the organisers are announcing major changes: 10 stages and 300 bands. But also the arrest of volunteers who will become employees (via a temporary agency founded by Hellfest). This great festival must indeed be renewed, but above all it must solve the problem of merch and water. And on July 2nd, the price of the 4-day pass was announced: €389. It’s expensive, but logical.

Titre: 2 minutes to midnight

   Autre 45 tours qui a été mis en vente un peu plus d'un an après Flight of icarus, 2 minutes to midnight va encore perturber nos connaissances sur le sujet. 

   Another 7 inch that was put up for sale a little over a year after Flight of Icarus, 2 minutes to midnight will still disrupt our knowledge on the subject. 

   Sa référence est EMI 5489. A la différence du précédent, l'exemplaire que j'ai acheté comporte les deux pochettes: EMI label verte et anglaise. Je n'ai aucune idée si cela se faisait à l'époque ou si le vendeur a complété son vinyle avec une pochette anglaise récupérée. Du coup je les laisse ensemble:

   Its reference is EMI 5489. Unlike the previous one, the copy I bought has both sleeves: EMI green and English label. I have no idea if it was done at the time or if the seller completed his vinyl with a recovered English cover. So I leave them together.

   Autre différence mais cette-fois plus importante, la mention "Made in Ireland" a disparu sur le label. C'est assez troublant et je vais devoir vérifier si c'est un cas isolé ou pas. Mais bien entendu il n'y a aucun doute sur l'origine de ce vinyle qui est bien irlandais. C'est juste que cela complique un peu les choses:

   Another difference but this time more important, the mention "Made in Ireland" disappeared on the label. It’s quite disturbing and I’ll have to check if it’s an isolated case or not. But of course, there is no doubt about the origin of this vinyl, which is indeed Irish. It’s just that this complicates things a bit.

   Et si ce vinyle était, de nouveau translucide pour brouille les pistes ? Et bien oui, il l'est, comme l’atteste cette photo toujours réalisée avec les moyens du bord comme pour Piece of mind:

   What if this vinyl is again translucent to muddy the waters? Well yes, it is, as evidenced by this photo, always taken with the means at hand, as for Piece of Mind.

   On voit donc que, pour le moment, 50% des vinyles sont translucides. Qu'en sera-t-il des prochains ?

   So we can see that, for now, 50% of vinyl records are translucent. What about the next ones?

   Second article de la série Irlandaise, je vous propose maintenant un 33 tours de Piece of mind.  Sa référence est EMI EMA800. Là encore la pochette est identique à l'édition anglaise. Elle est donc aussi de type ouvrante et comporte donc les mêmes références et crédits:

   Second article in the Irish series, I now offer you an LP of Piece of Mind. Its reference is EMI EMA800. Again, the sleeve is identical to the English edition. It is therefore also of an opening type and therefore contains the same references and credits. 

   Les labels sont encore jaunes, avec également la mention "Made in Ireland" qui est visible et permet encore une identification formelle:

   Au cours de l'article précédent je vous ai parlé des vinyles translucides irlandais. En fait c'est une exagération car il n'y a pas que dans ce pays qu'il a existé des vinyles translucides. Il y en a eu en Europe entre 1970 et 1990, mais aussi au Japon et probablement d'autres pays. Cette particularité survient lorsque la matière utilisée pour confectionner le vinyle est différente de la normale. En fonction du colorant mis dans le plastique de base, le noir du vinyle peut, avec un éclairage fort, paraitre translucide, voir coloré en bleu, marron ou rouge. Tel que ceci pour ce qui concerne Piece of Mind:

   In the previous article, I talked to you about Irish translucent vinyl. In fact, it’s an exaggeration because translucent vinyls did not only exist in this country. There were some in Europe between 1970 and 1990, but also in Japan and probably other countries. This particularity occurs when the material used to make vinyl is different from normal. Depending on the dye put in the basic plastic, the black of the vinyl can, with strong lighting, appear translucent, or colored in blue, brown or red. Such as this for what concerns Piece of Mind.

   Pour obtenir cet effet j'ai juste utilisé la lampe de mon téléphone portable et pris la photo avec un appareil photo portable. Avec une lampe plus puissance et plus grande l'effet serait plus flagrant. Et pour compléter ce que j'ai écrit pour The number of the beast, cela ne fonctionne pas avec. Il a existé plusieurs types de vinyles translucides: Quiex, JVC Supervinyl ou Cook microfusion. A priori cette coloration moindre jouait également sur la qualité du son. Je n'ai pas trouvé qui a gravé les vinyles Irlandais et quel procédé a été utilisé. Encore une part de mystère dans l'histoire discographique du groupe ! 

   To achieve this effect I just used the lamp of my mobile phone and took the picture with a portable camera. With a more powerful and larger lamp, the effect would be more obvious. And to complete what I wrote for The number of the beast, it doesn’t work with. There were several types of translucent vinyl: Quiex, JVC Supervinyl or Cook microfusion. Apparently, this lower coloration also played a role in the quality of the sound. I didn’t find who engraved the Irish vinyl records and what process was used. Another part of mystery in the band’s discographic history!

   Lorsque j'écris que ce produit est français je sais que la plupart me prendrons pour un fou. En effet l''obi indique clairement une origine japonaise. Les deux stickers de prix, dont le dernier baissé à 15€, n'indiquent en rien une provenance. Mais revenons à son achat. J'ai trouvé ce CD de Virtual XI, neuf et encore sous cellophane, sur ebay. 

   When I write that this product is French, I know most people will take me for a fool. Indeed, the obi clearly indicates a Japanese origin. The two price stickers, including the last one reduced to €15, do not indicate any origin. But let’s return to its purchase. I found this Virtual XI CD, new and still in cellophane, on eBay. 

   Et il s'agit bien de l'édition double CD avec calendrier vendue sous la référence EMI Toshiba TOCP 50440-1. Le boitier est bien garni avec donc le CD de l'album, un calendrier, un insert japonais, une obi, et un second CD contenant 2 titres live. Ce n'est pas un produit rare, bien qu'ici il soit neuf.

   And it is indeed the double CD edition with calendar sold under reference EMI Toshiba TOCP 50440-1. The case is well stocked with the album CD, a calendar, a Japanese insert, an obi, and a second CD containing 2 live tracks. It is not a rare product, although here it is new.

   Mais ce que mon exemplaire a de particulier, et ce qui le rend exceptionnel, c'est qu'il comporte le fameux sticker Pathé Marconi doré, sticker apposé sur les produits importés du Royaume-Uni, d'Allemagne ou du Japon. A la base tous les produits Pathé Marconi comportent un code prix qui est imprimé sur la pochette. Pour les 45 tours il commence par le chiffre 1, pour les 33 tours par le chiffre 2 et enfin pour les CD par 5. Mais cela est théorique et, en fonction des années, il y a eu des variations. Ainsi on pouvait lire du PM 100, du PM 251 ou encore du PM 512. Cela indiquait au disquaire, à une époque sans informatique, à quel prix vendre ce produit. Cela a perduré jusqu'au début des années 2000 pour disparaitre définitivement avec l’essor des codes-barres et de l'informatisation.

   But what makes my copy special and exceptional is that it features the famous golden Pathé Marconi sticker, a sticker applied to products imported from the United Kingdom, Germany or Japan. Basically, all Pathé Marconi products have a price code that is printed on the pouch. For the 45s, it starts with the number 1, for the 33s with the number 2, and finally for the CDs with a 5. But this is theoretical and, depending on the years, there have been variations. So we could read PM 100, PM 251 or even PM 512. This indicated to the record store, in a computer-free era, at what price to sell this product. This continued until the early 2000s and disappeared definitively with the rise of barcodes and computerization.

   J'ai déjà parlé de ce principe typiquement français mais je le rappelle régulièrement pour ceux qui n'ont pas lu mes articles précédents. Et donc, pour ce produit, le code PM était 617. Et le sticker doré a été collé sur l'arrière du boitier comme ceci:

   I have already subscribed to this typically French principle, but I remind you of it regularly for those who have not read my previous articles. And so, for this product, the PM code was 617. And the golden sticker was stuck to the back of the case like this.

   Originellement tous les exemplaires importés en France, et probablement vendus en 1998 au Virgin Megastoire de Paris, comportait ce sticker. Mais combien ? 10 ou 20 ? Pas plus. Et sur les 20 au grand maximum, presque tous ont été ouverts, et la cellophane jetée. Le sticker PM doré a disparu. Mais pas ici. L'exemplaire que je vous montre dans cet article est probablement unique. Pour moi. Je vous laisse en juger...

   Originally all the copies imported in France, and probably sold in 1998 to the Virgin Megastoire of Paris, included this sticker. But how many? 10 or 20? Not more. And of the maximum 20, almost all have been opened, and the cellophane thrown away. The golden PM sticker has disappeared. But not here. The copy I’m showing you in this article is probably unique. For me. I’ll let you judge...

Titre: Fear of the dark

   Celui-ci j l'ai acheté sur Ebay il y a plusieurs mois. C'est un rare (non pas par le nombre, mais par le type) digipack vendu en 1992 pour Fear of the dark. Depuis 2019 nous avons tous notre digipack européen pour ce titre, mais en 1992 il n'existait que peu de digipack pour les albums. Pour des singles oui, comme From here to eternity en tirage UK aussi en 1992.

   This one I bought on eBay several months ago. This is a rare (not in number, but by type) digipack sold in 1992 for Fear of the Dark. Since 2019 we all have our European digipack for this title, but in 1992 there was only a few digipacks for albums. For singles, yes, like From here to eternity in the UK edition also in 1992.

   Sa référence est EMI Music group Autralasia 7808612. Le digipack comporte un livret agrafé au centre. Au dos il y a les crédits mais aussi un code barre, soit 07777808612.

   Its reference is EMI Music group Autralasia 7808612. The digipack has a stapled booklet in the center. On the back there are the credits but also a barcode, which is 07777808612.

   Et ce que l'on peut voir sur l'arrière c'est que la particularité de ce digipack est de contenir 15 titres au lieu de 12. En effet 3 titres live ont été rajoutés pour notre grand bonheur, même si ce sont des titres de No prayer for the dying, timing oblige. Et on retrouve ces 15 titre sur le CD qui est de type argent. Le matrix de ce CD a été faite par SM, qui est un graveur indonésien qui a aussi opéré en Australie qui se nomme aujourd'hui DiscWorld (DW): 

   And what we can see on the back is that the particularity of this digipack is to contain 15 tracks instead of 12. Indeed, 3 live tracks have been added for our great pleasure, even if they are tracks from No prayer for the dying, timing oblige. And we find these 15 tracks on the CD, which is silver. The matrix of this CD was made by SM, who is an Indonesian disc manufacturer who also worked in Australia and is now called DiscWorld (DW).

   Au final un beau produit original qui fait son effet dans une collection !

   Je pense avoir acheté ce double CD de Live after death lors du Hellfest 2025, en juin dernier donc. Pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas ce festival il y a un grand market avec de nombreux vendeurs de matériel, de vêtements et de produits musicaux. En fonction des années c'est plus ou moins intéressant et cela dépend aussi de la programmation. Cette année, avec la venue d'Iron Maiden, il y aura, je pense, de nombreux vinyles et CD en vente. Mais outre la qualité des stands il y a aussi un critère primordial à prendre en compte: la chaleur ! 

   I think I bought this double CD of Live after death at the Hellfest 2025 festival, last June then. For those who do not know this festival there is a big market with many sellers of equipment, clothing and musical products. Depending on the years, it is more or less interesting and it also depends on the programming. This year, with the arrival of Iron Maiden, there will be, I think, many vinyls and CDs on sale. But in addition to the quality of the stands, there is also an essential criterion to take into account: the heat! 

   En effet ce market se déroule sous deux énormes chapiteaux et lorsque le soleil tape dur sur la toile la chaleur dans ce market est insupportable. Du coup, en fonction de cela, c'est plus ou moins agréable de le visiter et de prendre son temps pour fouiller dans les bacs. Sois j'y passe une heure et je trouve des belles pépites, soit j'y passe dix minutes et je regarde rapidement car c'est une torture. Et je ne parle même pas des vendeurs qui doivent subirent ces températures...

   Indeed, this market takes place under two enormous tents and when the sun hits hard on the canvas, the heat in this market is unbearable. So, depending on that, it’s more or less pleasant to visit it and take your time to rummage through the bins. Either I spend an hour there and find beautiful nuggets, or I spend ten minutes there and I look quickly because it’s a torture. And I’m not even talking about the sellers who have to endure these temperatures...

   Revenons au produit. Il s'agit de la réédition de 1998 sous forme de remaster, avec double CD, réalisé par EMI Australasia:

   Back to the product. This is the 1998 reissue as a remaster, with double CD, made by EMI Australasia.

   La matrix des CD a été réalisées par Regency media. Cette société Australienne, aujourd'hui disparue, était spécialisée dans le divertissement avec une filiale de fabrication de CD et DVD. Mes recherches ne permettant pas de dire si cette société existait déjà en 1998 sous cette forme juridique ou si le nom n'existe que depuis 2006. Cela indiquerait que ce remaster est une réédition de 2006 et non pas le premier tirage de 1998. Si vous suivez mon blog vous savez que, pour l'Europe, il existe une dizaine de rééditions CD pour les remaster 98. Cela est donc aussi valable pour d'autres pays:

   The CD matrix was created by Regency media. This Australian company, now defunct, specialized in entertainment with a subsidiary manufacturing CDs and DVDs. My research does not allow me to say if this company already existed in 1998 in this legal form or if the name has only existed since 2006. This would indicate that this remaster is a 2006 reissue and not the first edition of 1998. If you follow my blog you know that, for Europe, there are about ten CD reissues for the 98 remasters. This is therefore also valid for other countries.

   Faute de matériel de comparaison je vais considérer mon produit comme datant de 1998. Il sera temps de modifier par la suite si je trouve un autre remaster 98 Australien avec une matrix différente.

   Due to the lack of comparison material, I will consider my product as dating from 1998. It will be time to modify later if I find another Australian 98 remaster with a different matrix.

   Il y a quelques semaines j'ai publié un article sur les rééditions américaines en vinyle et j'ai écrit que, à priori, il n'existait pas de réédition pour Seventh son of a seventh son. Je me suis trompé. En effet un lecteur m'a rapidement écrit pour me confirmer son existence. Mais pourquoi se doute ? 

   A few weeks ago I published an article on American vinyl reissues and I wrote that, on the face of it, there was no reissue for Seventh son of a seventh son. I made a mistake. Indeed, a reader quickly wrote to me to confirm its existence. But why suspect? 

   J'ai régulièrement acheté les produits américains sur Ebay. Mais avec l’augmentation des prix et des taxes je n'en achète plus en occasion. Et pour les rééditions je vais sur Amazon.com. C'est simple, rapide et surtout pas de mauvaise surprise sur le prix de port et les taxes. Amazon s'occupe de tout. Mais lorsque le produit n'y figure pas, et qu'il est aussi absent sur Ebay, cela me laisse a penser qu'il n'existe pas ou plus. C'est ce qu'il s'est passé avec Seventh son. Du coup, une fois la certitude de son existence, où l'acheter ? Je me suis rabattu sur Discogs, mon meilleur ennemi ! 

   I regularly bought American products on eBay. But with the increase in prices and taxes, I no longer buy them second-hand. And for reissues, I go to Amazon.com. It’s simple, fast, and above all no unpleasant surprises about the shipping price and taxes. Amazon takes care of everything. But when the product is not there, and it is also absent on eBay, it makes me think that it does not exist or no longer exists. That’s what happened with Seventh son. So, once the certainty of its existence, where to buy it? I fell back on Discogs, my best enemy! 

   J'ai effectivement trouvé cette réédition, et j'ai sélectionné le vendeur qui offrait le meilleur ratio entre le prix et le port. J'ai donc payé aussi 12€ de taxes d'importation. Et j'ai attendu. Au bout de 3 semaines j'ai contacté le vendeur qui m'a répondu que le vinyle partait dans la semaine. Pas très conviviale comme attitude. Et j'ai encre attendu. Sans nouvelle je suis allez sur Paypal, mon moyen de paiement, et j'ai vu un numéro de suivi. Car le vendeur, toujours aussi convivial, n'a pas pris le temps de me l'envoyer ! Et en regardant le suivi j'ai constaté que le colis m'attendait depuis 5 jours dans mon bureau de poste, puisque le facteur, sans que je sache pourquoi, n'a pas déposé d'avis dans ma boite...

   I indeed found this reissue, and I selected the seller who offered the best ratio between the price and the port. So I also paid 12€ in import taxes. And I waited. After 3 weeks, I contacted the seller who replied that the vinyl was leaving during the week. Not very friendly as an attitude. And I waited. Without news, I went to Paypal, my payment method, and I saw a tracking number. Because the seller, always so friendly, didn’t take the time to send it to me! And looking at the tracking, I noticed that the package had been waiting for me for 5 days in my post office, since the postman, without knowing why, did not leave a review in my postalbox...

   Direction la poste et on me demande 12€ en droit de douane pour obtenir ce colis. Sachant que si je ne paie pas cette somme le colis repart. J'ai donc payé deux fois la taxe d'importation. Et bon courage pur se faire rembourser. L'essentiel est que j'ai mon vinyle. Mais franchement, l'expérience sur la marketplace de Discogs est catastrophique. Des vendeurs pas heureux de vendre, aucun suivi ni communication, un service postal français déplorable. Tout les ingrédients réunis pour ne pas renouveler l'expérience. Et donc dès que je peux je comande de nouveau sur Amazon.com pour les USA ! 

   Head of the post office and I am being asked for 12€ in customs duty to get this package. Knowing that if I do not pay this amount, the package leaves again. So I paid the import tax twice. And good luck in getting reimbursed. The essential thing is that I have my vinyl. But frankly, the experience on the Discogs marketplace is catastrophic. Sellers not happy to sell, no follow-up or communication, a deplorable French postal service. All the ingredients gathered to avoid repeating the experience. And so as soon as I can I go back to Amazon.com for the USA!

   La référence du code barre est 4050539906455. Mais il existe une autre référence qui figure dans les crédits, soit 50539906451. Je n'ai jamais compris cette différence puisque cela ne reprend pas intégralement le code barre:

   Et donc je peux enfin écrire que je possède maintenant toutes les rééditions vinyles Europe et USA depuis 2012 !

   And so I can finally write that I now own all the vinyl reprints in Europe and the USA since 2012!
