   Je vous ai déjà dit que Piece of mind est mon album préféré ? Je l'ai écrit 10 fois je pense. Cela fera onze. Une face A énormissime, deux 45 tours magnifiques dont un joué encore à tous les concerts, et To tame a land, cet hommage au roman de Herbert qui me fait toujours frisonner 40 ans après !

   I told you that Piece of mind is my favorite album? I wrote it 10 times I think. That’s eleven. One big side A, two magnificent 7' of which one still played at all concerts, and To tame a land, this tribute to the novel by Herbert that always makes me thrill 40 years later !

   Du coup j'ai été incroyablement heureux de découvrir dans le lot RMC ce tirage Français de Piece of mind. C'est encore une édition promotionnelle mais j'en possédais déjà une avec ce fameux tampon embouti. Pas que je suis blasé mais je savoure encore plus ce 33 tours provenant de cette radio.

   So I was incredibly happy to discover in the RMC lot this French edit of Piece of mind. It is still a promotional edition but I already had one with this famous stamped stamp. Not that I’m tired but I enjoy even more this LP from this radio.

   Tous les détails caractéristiques trouvés sur les produits de cette discothèques sont présents sur la pochette: référence Radio Monte-Carlo et date. Pour la date il s’agit du 02 août 1983. Pour la référence RMC: V.222414:

   All the characteristic details found on the products are present on the cover: reference Radio Monte-Carlo and date. For the date it is 02 August 1983. For the reference RMC: V.222414.

   Si je vous dis que l'insert RMC ne comporte pas de date d'écoute cela ne sera pas une grande surprise tellement nous l'avons constaté sur 90% des produits du lot. Et du coup pour mon plus grand bonheur ce produit est dans un état neuf ! Un 33 tours de 1983, promotionnel, d'une radio, et quasi neuf. Que demander de plus !

   If I tell you that the insert RMC does not have a date of listening it will not be a big surprise as we found on 90% of the products of the lot. And so to my greatest happiness this product is in a new condition! A 983' LP, promotional, radio, and almost new. What more could you ask for !

   Maiden Japan est le titre suivant pour ce premier lot de la discothèque de Radio Monte-Carlo. Et avec ce produit on va avoir une petite surprise. En effet il ne comporte pas toutes les caractéristiques déjà vues sur les autres. Examinons cela.

   Maiden Japan is the next title for this first batch of the disco of Radio Monte-Carlo. And with this product we will have a little surprise. Indeed, it does not include all the characteristics already seen on the others. Let us examine this.

   Ce maxi 45 tours comporte une pochette qui ne comprend ni référence RMC inscrite dessus au feutre, ni tampon avec date. C'est assez surprenant. De plus cette pochette n'est pas en excellent état. Il y a deux morceaux de scotch sans vraiment de raison car il n'y a pas de déchirure et il trait de stylo entour la mention "45 tours - 4 titres". Par rapport à ce que l'on a vu avant cela manque de soin dans la conservation de cette pochette.

   This 12 inch has a cover that does not include RMC reference written on it with felt, nor date stamp. It is quite surprising. Moreover, this cover is not in excellent condition. There are two pieces of scotch without really reason because there is no tear and it draws pen around the mention "45 tours - 4 titres". Compared to what we have seen before this lack of care in the conservation of this cover.

   Mais pour remonter le niveau de qualité de cette pochette il y a heureusement le tampon promotionnel encré à l'intérieur. Comme il s'agit du premier tirage Français de Maiden Japan la pochette s'ouvre sur le haut, et c'est là que le tampon promo a été apposé. Et comme elle est partiellement décollée c'est plus facile pour faire la photo:

   But to raise the level of quality of this pouch there is fortunately the inked promotional stamp inside. As this is the first French print of Maiden Japan the cover opens on top, and that’s where the promo stamp was affixed. And as it is partially detached it is easier to take the photo.

   Et quand est-il de l'insert RMC ? Il est bien présent mais là aussi il est différent. En effet il ne comporte pas non plus de référence RMC et a été renseigné manuellement. Par cotre ce qui ne change pas c'est l'absence d'écoute de ce disque sur les ondes !

   And about the RMC insert ? It is present but also different. It does not include an RMC reference and has been entered manually. What does not change is the absence of listening to this record on the air !

   Heureusement les labels sont conformes au standard RMC avec la référence V.206537 inscrite sur les deux. Je commençais à m'inquiéter avec toutes ces anomalies mais c'est bien un produit provenant de la discothèque de RMC. Et pourtant comment expliquer justement ces anomalies ?

    Fortunately the labels are compliant with the RMC standard with the reference V.206537 written on both. I was beginning to worry about all these anomalies but it is a product from the RMC disco. And yet how to explain precisely these anomalies ?

   A priori tout indique que ce disque a été enregistré dans l'inventaire en dehors des standards de la discothèque RMC: absence de référence sur la pochette, insert écrit manuellement et sans référence dessus et absence de tampon daté. Cela a pu arriver pour diverses raisons: trop de travail, travail réalisé par un stagiaire ne connaissant pas les process, oubli. Cela n'enlève rien à son aspect historique.

   A priori everything indicates that this disc was registered in the inventory outside of the standards of the discothèque RMC: Nof reference on the cover, insert written manually and without reference on it and No dated stamp. This could have happened for various reasons: too much work, work done by an intern who does not know the processes, forgetting. This does not detract from its historical aspect.

   Mais en fait ce n'est rien de tout cela ! Je connais la raison réelle et je vous en dirai plus d'ici quelques semaines, lorsque nous analyserons ensemble le second lot...

   But in fact it is none of this! I know the real reason and will tell you more in a few weeks, when we analyze together the second lot...

   J'arrive au dernier 45 tours de la série RMC car, vous l'avez vu dans mon article précédent et mes photos, il n'y a pas de 45 tours dans le second lot RMC acheté. Ce tirage Français de Can I play with madness est intéressant car il montre un changement dans le classement par RMC des disques.

   I arrive at the last 7 inch of the RMC series because, you saw it in my previous article and my photos, there are no7 inch in the second lot RMC purchased. This French edit of Can I play with madness is interesting because it shows a change in the RMC’s ranking of records.

   La référence est 00028807, avec un code barre collé sur le devant de la pochette. C'est donc un changement dans la gestion des disques, probablement pour permettre une meilleur gestion des mouvements entre le stock et les studios:

   The reference is 00028807, with a barcode glued on the front of the cover. It is therefore a change in the management of records, probably to allow better management of movements between the stock and the studios.

   Il y a encore trois choses intéressantes sur cette pochette. Tout d'abord un sticker RMC. De forme ronde il est très visible:

   There are three more interesting things on this cover. First of all a RMC sticker. Round shape it is very visible.

   Puis le tampon date RMC, qui indique la date du 25 mars 1988. Ce n'est que 5 jours après la date de sortie officielle du single.

   Then the RMC date stamp, which indicates the date of March 25, 1988. It is only 5 days after the official release date of the single.

   Et enfin le tampon promo, qui est rond et situé en haut à gauche de la pochette:

   And finally the promo stamp, which is round and located at the top left of the cover.

   Deux commentaires sur ce tampon. Il est à l'envers, c'est à dire que l'embouti a été fait depuis le verso, et je possède une variante de Can I play with madness promo Français avec le tampon hexagonal. Le voici:

   Two comments on this stamp. It is upside down, that is to say the stamping was done from the back cover, and I have a variant of Can I play with madness French promo with hexagonal stamp.

   Tout comme la photo des deux disques de Scorpions dans l'article précédent, voici deux 45 tours datant de 1988, avec les deux types de tampon promo Français. Mais là où pour Scorpions les titres étaient différents, là c'est le même single. Pourtant, à ma connaissance, il n'y a eu qu'un tirage de ce 45 tours, donc pas d'écart important entre deux disques. Mon hypothèse est que le 45 tours pour RMC est celui de mars 1988, avec le tampon rond, et que celui que je possède déjà a été prélevé dans un stock quelques mois plus tard, disons vers fin 1988, et que cette fois-ci le tampon hexagonal y a été apposé. Pour ceux qui n'ont pas lu mon article sur le sujet je rappelle que c'est en 1988 que Pathe Marconi a modifié son tampon de rond vers hexagonal.

   Just like the photo of the two Scorpions records in the previous article, here are two 7 inch dating from 1988, with both types of French promo stamp. But where for Scorpions the titles were different, here it is the same single. However, to my knowledge, there was only one draw of this 7 inch, so no significant gap between two discs. My hypothesis is that the 7 inch for RMC is the one from March 1988, with the round stamp, and that the one I already have was taken from a stock a few months later, say towards the end of 1988, and this time the hexagonal stamp was affixed. For those who have not read my article on the subject I recall that it was in 1988 that Pathe Marconi changed his stamp from round to hexagonal.

   Les labels sont argentés, mais contrairement aux autres produits la référence n'a pas été inscrite dessus manuellement:

   The labels are silver, but unlike other products the reference has not been written on it manually.

   Et enfin l'insert est encore présent, alors que le code barre aurait pu laisser penser à une disparition de cette aide manuelle. Il n'en est rien et, sans grande surprise, ce single n'est pas passée sur les ondes de RMC:

And finally the insert is still present, while the barcode could have suggested a disappearance of this manual aid. It is nothing like that and, not surprisingly, this single did not go on the RMC airwaves.

   Avant-dernier 45 tours de cette série RMC, avec un tirage Français de Run to the hills live qui comporte encore des différences avec les autres. Avant de débuter la description une autre information car j'ai réussi a acheter d'autres lots de la discothèque RMC qui étaient en vente cette semaine. Je vous propose des photos en fin de semaine prochaine, une fois que j'ai récupéré les vinyles.

   Penultimate 7 inch of this RMC series, with a French edit of Run to the hills live that still has differences from the others. Before starting the description another information because I managed to buy other lots of the disco RMC that were on sale this week. I propose to take pictures next weekend, once I have recovered the vinyl.

   La pochette comporte le tampon promotionnel du milieu des années 80 et une référence RMC étrange: V1 FM. Comme pour the trooper cette référence ne suit pas la logique des autres. Et j'ignore toujours pourquoi. Je reste persuadé que FM sont les initiales de la personne qui a enregistré ce disque dans la collection de la radio:

   The cover has the mid-80s promotional stamp and a strange RMC reference: V1 FM. As for the trooper, this reference does not follow the logic of others. And I still don’t know why. I remain convinced that FM are the initials of the person who recorded this record in the radio collection.

   L'insert a été rédigé à la main, contrairement à tous les autres vus depuis le début des articles sur le sujet. Il ne comporte plus que V1. Le FM a disparu. Aucune date d'écoute n'a été inscrite sur cet insert:

   The insert was handwritten, unlike all others seen since the beginning of the articles on the subject. It is now only V1. The FM has disappeared. No listening date was written on this insert.

   Sur les labels argentés la référence redevient V1 FM:

   On the silver labels, the reference becomes V1 FM.

   L'ensemble des marquages sur ce 45 tours promo Français de Run to the hills live me laisse à penser qu'il a été enregistré par la radio comme un produit négligeable, sans intérêt, qui ne sera de toute façon jamais écouté ! En effet la référence V1 n'a pas de sens ou alors elle est incomplète. Comment retrouver ce 45 tours parmi des milliers d'autres avec un tel classement ? Encore un mystère que je ne suis pas certain de pouvoir éclaircir un jour.

   The set of markings on this 7 inch promo French Run to the hills live makes me think that it was recorded by radio as a negligible product, without interest, which will never be heard anyway! Indeed the reference V1 has no meaning or then it is incomplete. How to find this 7 inch among thousands of others with such a ranking? Another mystery that I am not sure I can ever solve.

   Mais avec la nouvelle grande quantité de vinyles RMC que je vais récupéré très bientôt, et avec les références indiquées dessus, je vais peut-être confirmé ou infirmé mes constatations.

   But with the new large quantity of RMC vinyl that I will recover very soon, and with the references indicated on it, I may be confirming or invalidated my findings.

    Dans cet article je vais vous montrer deux nouveaux produits, dont un provenant de la discothèque de RMC. L'autre est un promo "normal". Ce qu'il y a d'extraordinaire c'est que j'ai récupéré les deux dans une courte période !

   In this article I will show you two new products, one from the RMC disco. The other is a "normal" promo. What is extraordinary is that I recovered both in a short period of time !

   Running free live est sorti en 1985, pour promouvoir les ventes du Live after death (il se serait vendu par palettes sans même de promotion ! ) et les deux tirages en photos sont Français. Je vais débuter la description par le promo simple. La pochette comporte un tampon promotionnel sur l'angle supérieur droit:

   Running free live was released in 1985, to promote the sales of Live after death (it would have sold by palettes without even promotion! ) and both edit in photos are French. I will start the description with the simple promo. The cover has a promotional stamp on the upper right corner.

   La pochette arrière indique bien le distributeur Pathé Marconi pour la France, et les labels sont argents. En édition classique ce 45 tours Français ne se voit pas souvent, contrairement à The trooper ou Fligt of icarus, Et le promo est encore plus difficile à trouver, car c'est la première fois que je le trouvais depuis le début de ma collection:

    The back cover shows the Pathé Marconi distributor for France, and the labels are silver. In the classic edition this 7 inch French is not often seen, unlike The trooper or Fligt of icarus, and the promo is even more difficult to find, because it’s the first time I found it since the beginning of my collection.

   Et en trouver deux en quelques mois est encore plus extraordinaire. Car le 45 tours de RMC est aussi un promo, avec un tampon au même endroit sur la pochette:

   And finding two in a few months is even more extraordinary. Because the 7 inch of RMC is also a promo, with a stamp in the same place on the cover.

   Sa référence RMC est V 246.124. La date inscrite avec le tampon encreur RMC est le 8 novembre 1985, soit presque deux mois après la sortie officielle.  Bien entendu la référence RMC figure aussi au dos de la pochette et sur les labels argents:

   Its RMC reference is V 246.124. The date inscribed with the RMC ink stamp is 8 November 1985, almost two months after the official release.  Of course the RMC reference is also on the back of the cover and on the silver labels.

   Et enfin l'insert comporte bien des éléments précités mais, là encore, aucune date d'écoute par la radio. Par contre je pense que les 45 tours de Tears for fears, Stevie Wonder ou A-ha, et leurs tubes de la même période, doivent être usés jusqu'à la corde !

   And finally the insert contains many of the elements mentioned above but, again, no radio listening date. However, I think that the single of Tears for fears, Stevie Wonder or A-ha, and their tubes from the same period, must be worn to the rope !

   Outre que The trooper est mon titre préféré du groupe, d'où mon nom de "blogeur", c'est aussi celui dont je possède le plus de tirage promotionnel Français. Surtout avec ce quatrième 45 tours venant de la discothèque de Radio Monte-Carlo. Ce tirage est intéressant pour plusieurs raisons.

   Besides that The trooper is my favorite title of the group, hence my name "blogger", it’s also the one with the most French promotional edition. Especially with this 7 inch from the disco of Radio Monte-Carlo. This edition is interesting for several reasons.

   On remarque tout de suite que la référence RMC est différente des précédentes. Ici on peut lire V.40.984, suivi des lettres FM. Pour rappel les précédentes références étaient construites comme V.000.000. Peut-être s'agit-il d'une erreur et que le 2 a été oublié, ce qui donnerait en fait V.240.984. Ce serait même logique puisque Flight of icarus avait la référence V.222.179. Quant au FM, je ne pense pas qu'il signifie "modulation de fréquence", mais plutôt les initiales d'un employé de RMC. Ce sont des déductions, mais pas forcément la réalité:

   It is immediately noticeable that the RMC reference is different from the previous ones. Here we can read V.40.984, followed by the letters FM. As a reminder, the previous references were constructed as V.000.000. Maybe it’s a mistake and 2 was forgotten, which would actually result in V.240.984. It would even be logical since Flight of icarus had the reference V.222.179. As for the FM, I don’t think it means "frequency modulation", but rather the initials of an RMC employee. These are inferences, but not necessarily the reality.

   Le tampon promo est visible en bas à gauche. Cela me permet de vous montrer mes quatre tirages promo de The trooper, avec des tampons promo placés différemment: Deux en bas à gauche et deux en haut à droite. Je possède donc deux promos avec des tampons décales, un promo RTL et un promo RMC:

   The promo stamp is visible in the bottom left. This allows me to show you my four promo edition of The trooper, with promo stamps placed differently: Two in the bottom left and two in the top right. So I have two promos with decales stamps, a RTL promo and an RMC promo.

   Si on observe les labels, la référence est bien V.40984, ce qui contribue encore au mystère de la différence car on peut se tromper deux fois (pour la pochette) mais trois...:

   If we observe the labels, the reference is V.40.984, which still contributes to the mystery of the difference because you can be wrong twice (for the cover) but three...

   Et si je vous dis que l'insert comporte aussi la référence V.40.984 ? Mais ce qui ne change pas c'est l'absence d'écoute sur les ondes de la radio ! L'insert est encore vierge d'inscription:

   Ce 45 tours, seul tirage Français pour Purgatory, est aussi un disque promotionnel avec le tampon encré. L'encre utilisée est bleue, même si me tampon a été placé sur une partie de la pochette assez sombre et qu'on le voit mal. Je vous propose une photo avec une lumière rasante pour mieux le voir:

   This 7 inch, the only French edit for Purgatory, is also a promotional disc with the inked stamp. The ink used is blue, even if my stamp was placed on a part of the cover quite dark and we see it badly. I propose a photo with a grazing light to better see it.

   Contrairement aux deux autres produits déjà montrés, celui-ci ne comporte pas d'insert RMC. Il a probablement été perdu. Dommage. La date indiquée sur la pochette est le 3 juillet 1981, et la référence RMC est 204908. Cette référence a aussi été reportée sur les labels:

   Unlike the other two products already shown, this one does not have an RMC insert. It was probably lost. Too bad. The date on the cover is July 3, 1981, and the reference RMC is 204908. This reference has also been reported on labels.

   Même sans son insert il s'agit d'un magnifique produit en excellent état que je vais conserver de nombreuses années dans ma collection !

   Premier article sur des nouveaux vinyles et premier produit d'exception ! Et je vous préviens déjà que tous les suivants seront au même niveau. Afin de tenir une constante dans mes articles je vais vous proposer un plan que je reproduirais dans les autres articles car ils ont tous un élément commun: ils proviennent de la discothèque de RMC.

   First article on new vinyls and first exceptional product! And I warn you already that all the following will be at the same level. In order to keep a constant in my articles I will propose you a plan that I would reproduce in the other articles because they all have a common element: they come from RMC Radio.

   Mais qu'est-ce que RMC ? C'est une radio créée en 1943 à Monte-Carlo (Radio Monte Carlo donc l'acronyme) et qui existe toujours. Elle est dans le top 5 des audiences radio en France. Comme toutes radios, elle possède une discothèque constituée de vinyles et de CD et, le temps venant, elle s'en est séparée faute de place et d'utilité car le numérique a pris le lead dans la diffusion des chansons. Et comme d'autres radios avant, Europe 1 ou RTL ces vinyles ont été mis en vente. Et le but est de savoir quand et comment ils sont vendus. C'est réellement par hasard que j'ai appris que deux lots de cette discothèque RMC étaient en vente aux enchères sur le site de Drout, la célèbre maison de ventre Parisienne. Je ne rentre pas dans les détails mais j'ai "gagné" ces deux lots !

   But what is RMC ? It is a radio created in 1943 in Monte-Carlo (Radio Monte Carlo so the acronym) and which still exists. She is in the top 5 radio audiences in France. Like all radios, it has a disco consisting of vinyls and CDs and, time coming, it has separated from it for lack of space and utility because digital has taken the lead in the diffusion of the songs. And like other radios before, Europe 1 or RTL these vinyls were put on sale. And the goal is to know when and how they are sold. It was really by chance that I learned that two lots of this disco RMC were auctioned on the site of Drout, the famous Parisian belly house. I do not go into details but I "won" these two prizes !

Pour mon plan annoncé je vais parler tout d'abord de la pochette et des spécificités, puis de l'insert et enfin des labels, avec un récapitulatif en fin d'article. Pour débuter parlons de Running free.

   All the products of the next articles were in these lots (the last article planned will be for Seventh son of a seventh son). For my announced plan I will talk first about the cover and the specificities, then the insert and finally the labels, with a summary at the end of the article. Let’s start with Running free.

   Premier single du groupe, sorti en février 1980, Running free a été édité par 5 pays seulement en 45 tours, dont la France. Je possède ce 45 tours et j'avais entendu parler d'un tirage promo, sans jamais le voir. Si vous avez déjà lu mes articles vous savez que les tirages Français promo possède un tampon embouti à partir de 1983, et Flight of icarus. Vous pouvez-voir ce tirage sur la page du titre. Ce tampon rond embouti via une presse métallique indique "disque gratuit - interdit à la vente". Pour les tirages antérieurs à 1983 je connais des vinyles Français d'autres groupes avec des stickers ou des tampons encrés. Et je sais que Pathé Marconi, distributeur d'Iron Maiden en France, a utilisé ce type de tampon, comme d'autres labels comme Polydor, Carrère ou CBS. Mais je n'avais jamais encore vu de tampon encré pour Iron Maiden.

   The band’s first single, released in February 1980, Running free was released by only 5 countries in 7', including France. I own this 7' and I had heard about a promo edit, without ever seeing it. If you have already read my articles you know that the French prints promo has a stamped stamp from 1983, and Flight of icarus. You can see this print on the title page. This round stamp stamped via a metal press indicates "disque gratuit - interdit à la vente". For edit prior to 1983 I know French vinyls other groups with stickers or inked stamps. And I know that Pathé Marconi, distributor of Iron Maiden in France, used this type of stamp, like other labels like Polydor, Carrère or CBS. But I had never seen an inked stamp for Iron Maiden before.

   Venons-en au recto de la pochette. Immédiatement on voit deux choses: une référence et une date. La référence est V.192037. Elle est interne à RMC et servait probablement à classer les vinyles. La date est le 10 avril 1980, soit 2 mois après la sortie du titre. A gauche de cette date on peut aussi voir un cartouche avec la mention "Disco RMC". Cela provient d'un tampon encreur comprenant ce cartouche et un dateur:

   Let’s go to the front of the cover. Immediately we see two things: a reference and a date. The reference is V.192037. It is internal to RMC and was probably used to classify vinyl records. The date is April 10, 1980, 2 months after the release of the title. To the left of this date one can also see a cartouche with the mention "Disco RMC". This comes from an inking pad that includes this cartridge and a 3 date circles.

   Le verso est celui qui va nous intéresser le plus. On y retrouve les deux éléments du recto mais aussi un autre tampon encré. Sur celui-ci, en forme de rond, il est écrit: "Echantillon gratuit - Vente interdite". La disposition est totalement différente du tampon embouti de 1983, même si le texte est dans le même esprit avec le terme "disque" qui est remplacé par "échantillon". Ce tampon est identique dans la forme avec ceux déjà observés sur des promos de CBS ou Polydor dans les années 75-80.

   The back is the one that will interest us the most. We find the two elements of the front but also another inked stamp. On it, in the shape of a round, it is written: "Echantillon gratuit - Vente interdite". The layout is totally different from the stamped stamp of 1983, even if the text is in the same spirit with the term "disque" which is replaced by "échantillon". This buffer is identical in form with those already observed on promos of CBS or Polydor in the years 75-80.

    Le vinyle était accompagné d'un insert, une fiche interne (modèle RMC 135) servant a gérer les écoutes, les diffusions sur les ondes. On le verra plus tard sur d'autres produits mais elle peut être vierge de diffusion ! Sinon il y aura le nom de l'emprunteur, ou du journaliste qui a avait demandé à la discothèque le prêt pour le diffuser. Cependant elle comprend toujours le nom du groupe et la référence interne. Ici on peut noter qu'il a été écrit Maiden Iron, preuve que le groupe était encore inconnu du grand public. La référence V.192.037 est bonne et bien reportée.

   The vinyl was accompanied by an insert, an internal plug (model RMC 135) used to manage listening, broadcasting on the airwaves. We will see it later on other products but it can be virgin of diffusion! Otherwise there will be the name of the borrower, or the journalist who had asked the disco loan to broadcast it. However, it still includes the group name and the internal reference. Here it can be noted that it was written Maiden Iron, proof that the group was still unknown to the general public. Reference V.192.037 is good and well reported.

   Les labels sont conformes, à savoir argentés, et référencés V.192.037. Le vinyle est donc complet: pochette, insert et labels, le tout avec la même référence RMC et le tampon encré promotionnel sur l'arrière:

   J'ai donc eu la joie de découvrir dans le premier lot RMC un tirage promotionnel Français de Running free, en très bon état puisque jamais écouté et malgré ces presque 45 ans d'age. C'est un produit historique pour moi, ce le premier tirage promotionnel Français antérieur à 1983. Je savais qu'il en existait, c'était obligatoire, mais encore fallait-il le trouver. C'est chose faite. Combien en existe-il d'autres ? Pas beaucoup à mon avis car le groupe était récent, et rarement diffusé dans les radios en France. Nean Kay ne travaillait pas sur RMC ! Donc mes amis si jamais un jour j'en trouve un autre je vous le dit, mais il va falloir attendre !

   So I had the joy of discovering in the first batch RMC a promotional French Running free edit, in very good condition since never listened and despite these almost 45 years of age. This is a historic product for me, this the first French promotional edit prior to 1983. I knew it existed, it was mandatory, but still had to be found. It’s done. How many others are there? Not much in my opinion because the band was recent, and rarely broadcast on radio in France. Nean Kay was not working on RMC! So my friends if ever I find another one I tell you, but we will have to wait !

   Mon dernier article sur A matter of life and death date de plus de 2 ans. Juste avant de détailler le produit Chinois pour ce titre, petit retour sur le concert de Bruce à l'Olympia (à Paris) le 26 mai dernier. Je vais d'ici peu poster des photos sur ma page dédiée aux live. Rien de plus que ce que vous avez pu voir sur le web, et probablement de meilleure qualité que les mienne (je me trouvais au fond de la salle !). Mais j'y étais. Superbe concert malgré la grippe de Bruce, très bon choix des titres, et musiciens au top. Que du bonheur...

   My last article on A matter of life and death was more than 2 years ago. Just before detailing the Chinese product for this title, small return on the concert of Bruce at the Olympia (in Paris) on May 26. I will soon post photos on my page dedicated to live. Nothing more than what you could see on the web, and probably better quality than mine (I was at the back of the room). But I was there. Superb concert despite the flu of Bruce, very good choice of titles, and musicians at the top. What happiness...

   Revenons au CD Chinois donc. C'est un tirage non officiel mais qui est bien réalisé. Il se compose d'une couverture carton et d'un boitier cristal avec CD. La couverture carton est probablement un scan de l'officiel avec le rajout d'un rectangle jaune sur le devant, d'un sticker hologramme et de la référence CM1498 sur les côtés:

   Let’s go back to the Chinese CD. It is an unofficial print run but it is well done. It consists of a cardboard cover and a crystal case with CD. The cardboard cover is probably a scan of the official with the addition of a yellow rectangle on the front, a hologram sticker and the reference CM1498 on the sides.

   Le dos du boitier est similaire au dos de la couverture carton, sauf le code barre qui est plus haut:

   The back of the case is similar to the back of the cardboard cover, except for the bar code which is higher.

   Le livret est lui aussi une copie de l'original, avec le rajout du cartouche rouge comportant la référence Chinoise CM1498 (la même que sur les côtés de la couverture carton):

   The booklet is also a copy of the original, with the addition of the red cartridge with the Chinese reference CM1498 (the same as on the sides of the cardboard cover).

   Concernant le CD, c'est encore une fois le point faible de ce produit. Le visuel est en effet très pale, avec le nom du groupe et le titre qui ne figure pas en entier ! Etonnant car on a l'impression que tout le budget copie a été mis dans l'emballage au détriment du contenu. Pas de matrix, mais un rappel de la référence CM1498 en gravure:

   Regarding the CD, this is once again the weak point of this product. The visual is indeed very pale, with the name of the band and the title that does not appear in full! Surprising because we have the impression that the whole budget copy was put in the package at the expense of the content. No matrix, but a reminder of the reference CM1498 in engraving.

   J'ai terminé cette longue série de CD mais avant de vous présenter des tirages somptueux et inédits (ce n'est pas qu'une promesse !), je vous proposerai un dernier article unique sur une dizaine de CD qui sont des variantes et ne méritent pas un article individuel.

   I have finished this long series of CDs but before presenting you sumptuous and unpublished prints (it is not only a promise), I will propose you a last unique article on a dozen CDs that are variants and do not deserve an individual article.
